新山 古廟 眾神慶典 2008

一般而言，過了元宵節這“年”也就過了。但對新山人來說是要過了戊正月廿一古廟眾神慶典後，才真正算是過完“年”。對旅居外埠或國外的同學們，可能已很久沒聽過這回事了。而明天晚上正是戊子年正月廿一古廟游神的大節日。而每年古廟游神的活動已是新山近年來的旅遊賣點，同時也逐步走向國際化。就以今年來說，有來自台灣與潮州的拍攝隊伍前來進行記錄工作，作為他們收集海外華人傳統文化、習俗的資料。

今年的鼠年春節，偉榮同學夫婦、傳鐸同學夫婦以及漢榮同學難得都一齊回到新山來過節，部份的同學們都再相聚在一起同“撈生”、慶佳節。 (可上網偉榮所篇輯的部落格http://foon-yew.blogspot.com/觀賞同學們相聚的照片)。當然，兩個月前的聖誕節玲瓏同學回到星洲過節，也是一個難得的相聚機會。畢竟六年寬中同窗如今己是離校第43個年頭了，2010年我們這一屆的寬中同學聯誼會，將會主辦離校45週年的聚會，期望國外以及外埠的同學都能安排時間來參與此盛會，將是人生一樂也！

Taiwan and my early days in USA are remote. I recalled 2 weddings in

I went to See-Ngo's wedding in southern California. See-Ngo said I

Actually, I had an operation (big cut) not too long ago. Even that I
still had to study and to cook. That's a low point in my life.

I remember that I was lying on bed and a girl came to visit. My shape
was so bad that really scared her and she never saw me again. Ha....
My walking posture was curved.

My wife and I were the only 2 guests in Martin Yan's wedding even
though there were hundreds of Bride's gusets. Of course, I had to be
the best man. That's the time Martin went for cooking career and I was
looking for Physics jobs, which were on the decline since then, and
finally I became an aerospace engineer.

To begin, please accept my apology for this late response and the delay new year greeting "A very happy and bountiful Lunar New Year to all of you". Of course, this late greeting is no where near Meow Choo "kiah Su" early greeting. This is the first time I open my mail box since the end of January 08 simply because I don't have internet access from my home. So, it's excusable, right?

Li Lung, you are right that you have missed a rare opportunity to meet up with the folks in this gathering, many of them had not turned up during the last gathering. This was made possible through the great effort of our great Jit Kang (who organised it) and Chang Chai/Ai fang (the generous hosts who acceded to accept us). A lot of giggle and chitchats among us had created a great ambience for interaction and renewed our ontacts. Wee Yong shared his invaluable knowledge in rocket engineering and surprisingly some unexpected "cooking" news. Of course, our great host had also shared his wealth of knowledge in enterprises. All of us were excited that Po Kiang had joined in and asked for tips in equity market, but with "futile" answer.
