Meeting Old Friends 沙巴 新加坡 台北 2013

We visited Sabah and 蔡廷芳 on Jan 4 to 10, 2013. He is doing very well in Kota Kinabalu (亞庇). His Mom is also in KK and is very healthy. She cooked some Yong Tofu for us. The sea food is very good here. We also went to a native Cultural Village.

Mt. Kinabalu is world heritage site. It has a tropical rain forest but the temperature is very mild. It is pretty cool up here. The price, the food and the scene, so far, I think Sabah is the best in Malaysia. Just published, Malaysia is no. 3 in the top spots for North American retirees. We spent a night up here in Pine Resort. It is just 2 1/2 hour away from Kota Kinabalu city. It is so beautiful and relaxing and we ate tropical fruits until mid-night. The next morning, we saw a clear Mt. Kinabalu. Chinese called it 神山. We also went to the nearby hot spring and national park. However, it rained in afternoon.

In the last day staying in Singapore, Jan 13, we had a classmate reunion at a shopping mall at Yio Chu Kang. Before, I met our high school teacher 黃守堅 through his son (last picture) in Singapore. His older son has some old 新甘光 seaside pictures. I am waiting for his scan and copies. Will post more Singapore pictures in future.

On my way back to USA via Taipei, I met 漢榮 and had lunch together.

Meeting Old Classmates at JB 2012-13

Internet is very slow here and I will make a quick post. When I get to a faster internet, I will do a more comprehensive presentation on this topic. Below shows you our old school, 新甘光 seaside and downtown.

Actually I have been back for a while but staying in Singapore and KL areas waiting for my apartment to be fixed in JB. After we moved in our Stulang Laut apartment, some classmates have taken us to sight-see JB, especially in the new areas near 2nd Link. Many places were new to me. I took some pictures and share with you. Local classmates should recognize the places. The 999 roses were from 熾詩. Ha....We had a classmate meeting at Melody Gardens with more than 20 people attended.


On Jan. 1, 2013, we had a few classmates attended the alumni association get-together. This is the first time they provided food and was a big preparation event for next year, 100 year anniversary of Fow Yew School.
